ABEC accomplishes much of its work through its events and programs, with the help of its members.  Some events are open to the general public while others are for members only.  Member organizations receive reduced registration fees for many of the ABEC events.  Sponsorship opportunities are available for each event.

ABEC sponsored events include:

Annual Conference – ABEC’s marquee event, which convenes local business and education leaders to discuss some of the most pressing issues facing business and education today, by hearing from distinguished experts in their respective fields.

Arizona Higher Performing Schools Recognition Event – As part of a new initiative, this event recognizes the higher performing schools in the state whose students are on the ramp to career and college readiness.

Business-Education Partnership Symposium – A one day event that promotes effective partnerships that improves student achievement and recognizes “best practices” in business-education partnerships.

Crash Courses – Focused two-hour sessions in the areas of school finance, student achievement, educator effectiveness, and accountability and assessments in Arizona’s public K-12 schools with the goal of educating about the issues.

Golf Tournament – A non-competitive, scramble-format tournament that provides a venue for businesses to network with school administrators and elected officials.

Legislative Connection – (members-only) An event for members to meet with State legislators and learn about each other’s education policy agendas.

Shadow the Super – Each fall, ABEC sponsors an opportunity for state legislators to shadow a school district superintendent for a day to experience firsthand normal day-to-day activities in a school district.

Speaker Series – A breakfast or luncheon meeting that spotlights a nationally-recognized expert with the purpose to learn more about a specific education-related issue of significance to both business and education.
