We appreciate your interest in Public Education and your efforts to support it through participation in the "Celebrate Education" event at the State Capitol on January 25th.
This event scheduled for Thursday, January 25th, has been POSTPONED.
For those of you who paid $20 for a luncheon buffet, the options regarding that payment are:
- Let this purchase remain on the account in anticipation of you attending the future event.
- Request a refund of the $20 by contacting Karen Kehlenbach, Operations Manager, ABEC, by phone at 602-264-8396, or by email at Karen@azbec.org.
- Consider the $20 a donation to ABEC in which case we will be glad to send you a donation receipt for your tax records. Please contact Karen at the above email or phone for the receipt.
- If ABEC does not hear from you regarding your luncheon buffet ticket purchase by January 31, 2018, we will assume it is a donation to ABEC.

We apologize for this inconvenience, but there is little that we can do given the circumstances. The State House has changed its schedule to begin floor action at 11:30 for the month of January. This will virtually eliminate the ability of State Representatives to join us for our scheduled luncheon buffet and noon program. Many people make the effort and in some cases, a long trek to the Capitol from all over the state, expecting the event to be a premier opportunity to network with many State Legislators, demonstrate their support of public education, and get information on public education matters that we are all concerned about.
Bottom line, the change in the House schedule will likely remove most if not all House Members we expected to engage. That is unfortunate and is a change that ABEC feels is not fair to the attendees. ABEC will explore alternative dates further on into the session to reconvene this popular event, if at all possible.
